Smoky cream results from two Cream variants on a black base. The coat becomes extremely pale despite the genetic ability to produce black pigment.
A black base with two cream alleles, producing a very pale cream coat, pink skin, and usually blue eyes.
The body, mane and tail are pale cream, the skin is pink and the eyes are generally blue. Subtle smoky shading may remain.
Two Cream variants in SLC45A2 strongly dilute the black eumelanin of the underlying black base.
The coat remains light with minor seasonal or environmental changes in shade.
It closely resembles cremello and perlino. Visual distinction is uncertain without base-color testing.
